
COVID-19 Policies and Procedures from the City of Ottawa
Who can Return to the Pool?
- Swimmers capable of independently adhering to strict 2-meter physical distancing guidelines.
- Introduction to the sport or pre-competitive athletes
- Swimmers must be able to successfully complete a practice without any physical contact/support by their coach
Club Access Control
- Swimmers and coaching staff must complete a health assessment prior to each practice.
- Swimmers must arrive to practice at the scheduled time, avoiding user group mixing.
- Parents cannot enter the facility and athletes must enter & exit the facility by themselves.
- Methods to enter & exit the pool area will be explained with the site Supervisor.
- Swimmers should shower at home prior to practice and upon returning home.
- Swimmers should arrive with their training suit on as changeroom lockers are not available
- Upon arrival at practice, athletes must sanitize their hands at hand-sanitizer stations.
- Belongings must be placed on deck in a designated zone, identified by the pool Supervisor.
Equipment Use
- Swimmers are not permitted to set up the pool.
- All swimmer equipment must be brought home and thoroughly cleaned after each practice
- Swimmers cannot share equipment or use facility equipment
- Swimmers should bring a filled water bottle. No access to facility water during practice.
Operating Capacities
- Coaches and athletes must maintain physical distancing of 2 meters in and out of the pool.
- Dryland training is not permitted on the pool deck and can only take place at the moment on green space outside until further notice
Swimming Specific Information
- The maximum number of swimmers per booking is now based on the 6 swimmers per double lane format in a 25 meter pool. (ie: 6 lane pools allow 18 swimmers, 8 lane pools allows 24 swimmers.)
- The maximum number of swimmers per booking is based on the 5 swimmers per double lane format in a 25 yard pool.
- Swimmers must remain in the same lane throughout the workout.
